How to Plan Student-Driven Content

In this session, you will create your own topic web based on current topics and themes in your class. These will be shared during the Session and you collaborate with other participants about where each topic could progress or grow. For each progression, we will include conversations and ideas around the themes of literacy, F.L.O.W., and post-planning. These Threads & Progressions allow us to truly make our students the driving force of content as we push them to higher levels of proficiency. You will leave with not only immediate lesson plans to use the next day or week, but also tangible activities and ideas for other themes in your class. Don’t miss this one!

Are you wondering how to provide consistent, effective feedback? This session will lead you through effective feedback strategies based on the student’s ACTFL level. This helps us know how to construct proficiency assessments that truly tell us what we need to know about what our students can do and how to help naturally push them forward. We will build proficiency assessments during the session. Purchase the Rubrics Resource Download at a discounted price and begin to use the strategies immediately with students!

Organically Raising Students’ ACTFL Level: February 21 4:00pm PST – 5:00pm PST

This session will give you a chance to create authentic content from progressions pulled from your current topics in class, or previous sessions of this series. Through the review and use of the ACTFL levels, and the defining characteristics of each, we will become more mindful of the prompts and tasks we are giving our students. Come explore when, where and how to push for the skills necessary to acquire and grow in your target language!
