Day one will consist of leveled demos and incorporate explanations and connections with the ACTFL levels and SLA. This day is open to anyone and teachers who are new to or experienced in OWL will benefit from the collaboration. See OWL1 Des Moines, WA event for registration details.
Day two and three is a closed workshop and will focus on planning a daily structure for class, as well as looking at a scope and sequence that will go month to month and last throughout the year. Through looking at questioning sequences, common topics, de-unitizing, and ACTFL levels, the training will explore a curriculum trajectory that allows for an organic flow to happen in each class, while also allowing for feedback and assessments that will keep the department and schools united in a common direction towards improving students’ language.
