This three-week series will provide you introductory knowledge on OWL methods and techniques to start using in your online classroom! Building a Positive Online Community- April 7, 2020

As we move in to these new times, we are faced with new challenges for creating community remotely. However, there are some things that never change: connecting to kids authentically and sincerely. This session will explore how to use OWL’s signature community-building and relationship-building strategies to support kids and continue that strong community created in the classroom. This session offers practical strategies that can be applied immediately to your online routines.

Creating an Effective Online Classroom Structure- April 14, 2020

As community begins to develop and be fostered, it is important to look at the structure of the classroom and how we are going to maintain that during our prolonged online learning. As schools move to finishing the year out remotely, this session will explore how to establish effective routines and structures that will support continued learning in this new environment.

Differentiated Instruction in the Remote OWL Classroom-  April 21, 2020

OWL is known for it’s ability to effectively create dynamic classroom spaces for differentiated learning. Especially now with remote learning, it is key that we are still able to meet the needs of all learners. This session will provide tangible strategies and activities that will work with a variety and range of language skills and abilities so that all students continue to learn and grow in the language.
